If you have a garage the chances are it is cluttered and doesn’t look particularly nice! Decorating your garage is something that not many people think about doing but it does make a lot of sense. If you truly want your garage to be an extension of your house then making sure that it looks good is vital. In this article I’ll be talking about some of the best ways of decorating your home.

The first thing you need to do before you even start decorating is to have a big clear out of the garage. Get rid of anything that you don’t need and put everything that you do need into organised boxes to keep them safe. Doing this can take a long time so don’t try and do it all in one go – instead spread out the cleaning over a period of time.

Next you need to think about the lighting. While you want your lighting to look good you also need to think about what’ll be used for. Make sure you get a light that has the wattage required for the jobs you’ll be doing as well as providing good ambient light should you need it.

You can make your garage look better by adding decorations to it that also help you organise. For example shelving can be a good way of decorating and also provide you with a space to put all of your work and tools. Make sure that the shelves match the rest of the design of the garage to ensure everything looks as it should.

These are the basics of decorating a garage but you can be much more imaginative than this if you want to! Don’t rush into buying anything but instead take your time and find the right decorations for your garage.
